In recognition of its historic achievement in becoming the first LEED v5 certified building in Taiwan, the US Green Building Council is highlighting Hung Kuo Building as an exemplary case study on its global website to help inform and inspire other projects preparing to certify with the latest, most stringent version of the world’s most popular green building rating system.
Hung Kuo Building is the oldest building in the world (at the time of writing) to achieve LEED v5 Platinum certification. Even though it was designed and constructed before the creation of green building rating systems, Hung Kuo Building’s score of 90pts shows the world that with the commitment to progressive building upgrades from the owners and continual building operations and management practices enhancements by the management team it is possible for older buildings to achieve the highest levels of green building performance.
